This is a great place for cross-country skiing. The Methow Valley Sports Trail Association has lots of good information about the trails. You can downhill ski at Loup Loup on the road to Omak but it's very small - a rope tow,a poma lift and one chair lift.

There's an outdoor ice-skating rink in Winthrop behind the Barn. It reminds me of skating outdoors as a kid in Chicago and I love it but the ice is too bumpy for jumping (scary!) and too soft for spinning. Sometimes I go in the early morning and practice dance.

There's a great outdoor hot-tub at Sun Mountain. It's for guests only but not too hard to sneak in if you look like you're not! And of course, you can always just go play in the snow.
